Verizon Enterprise Solutions has added new features to its cloud-based Mobile Workforce Manager solution and signed a resale agreement with MobileIron, a provider of enterprise mobility management solutions.
“As organizations continue to grapple with mobile device management, our cloud-based Mobile Workforce Manager solution and MobileIron's platform are a powerful combination that will give our clients greater choice on a global platform,” said John Harrobin, chief marketing officer at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
Verizon's Mobile Workforce Manager, previously known as Enterprise-Mobility-as-a-Service, has been enhanced with new features designed to securely separate users' business and personal lives across devices and improve functionality for managing mobile applications. Now available to medium and large organizations in 30 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas, Mobile Workforce Manager also offers local billing, currency and support options.
The new features includes a secure workspace for supporting 'Bring Your Own Laptop.' Previously only available on smartphones and tablets, this feature creates separate corporate and personal personas for data and applications that reside on a device.
The secure workspace can be managed by an organization's IT department which can lock, wipe and locate a user's corporate persona to protect company property, while maintaining user privacy. End users can also store and access corporate documents from a secure cloud.
Another feature is expanded control for managing mobile applications, which generates greater flexibility for the IT administrator when deploying business applications by offering the ability to wrap security policies around a given application. The end user can access all applications with a single sign-on and a native experience that is reflective of their preferred device.
