Former NBA Player Beverley Arrested in U.S. on Domestic Violence Charges

According to Sports Illustrated, Patrick Beverley, former player for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers, was detained by law enforcement in Houston.

The 37-year-old athlete has been charged with an act of domestic violence. Court documents indicate that Beverley used force against a member of his household. According to a source familiar with the case, the victim is his minor younger sister, under his legal guardianship.

Beverley’s representatives posted a $40,000 bond, which will allow the basketball player to be released from custody shortly.

Beverley played 12 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). From 2010 to 2012, he played for Spartak Saint Petersburg. His most recent team was the Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv, with whom his contract was terminated in February.
