
Luka Doncic, the star player of the Los Angeles Lakers, has extended his contract with the team. The 26-year-old Slovenian athlete announced the news on his social media accounts.
According to insider Shams Charania from ESPN, the new deal is set for three years with a total payout of $165 million.
Doncic joined the Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks in February 2025. In the 2024/25 season, he played 28 games for the Los Angeles team in the NBA regular season, earning an average of 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game.
During the 2024/25 season, the Lakers finished the regular season with a record of 50 wins and 32 losses, securing the third spot in the NBA Western Conference. However, the Lakers faced a setback in the first round of the playoffs, losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves with a series score of 1-4.
