The Dallas Mavericks, a team in the National Basketball Association (NBA), have officially announced the extension of their contract with American player Kyrie Irving on their website.
The new deal with the 33-year-old guard is set for three years, during which the Olympic champion will earn 119 million dollars.
In March, Irving underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. It is expected that he will not return to the court until at least the beginning of 2026. In the previous season, Irving played in 50 games, averaging 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
Moreover, the Mavericks announced the acquisition of guard D'Angelo Russell, who will earn 5.7 million dollars in the upcoming season.
