Benavidez Announces His Cruiserweight Fight Against Ramirez

WBC super middleweight world champion David Benavidez, following his stoppage victory over Anthony Yarde, announced that he will face WBA and WBO cruiserweight titleholder Gilberto Ramirez on May 2, 2026.

According to David, his bout against Gilberto may take place in Las Vegas, USA.

Benavidez fought Yarde on the night of November 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In that bout, David won by technical knockout in the seventh round and defended his WBC championship belt. His record stands at 31 wins (25 by knockout) and zero losses.

Ramirez last stepped into the ring against Yuniel Dorticos in June of this year. That fight ended in favor of Gilberto by unanimous decision. His record is 48 wins (30 by knockout) and one loss.
