Promoter Eddie Hearn shared his thoughts on the future of the championship titles held by Dmitry Bivol, the reigning world champion in the light heavyweight division.
Eddie Hearn for BoxingScene
Unfortunately, when you become undisputed like Bivol, all of these mandatories swing around. They've got one with the IBF, they've got Benavidez, they've got Callum Smith. So yeah, I think the belts will free up over the next 12 months.
Bivol last fought against Artur Beterbiev in the main event of a boxing evening held in February this year. In this match, Dmitry avenged his earlier defeat, winning by a majority decision and becoming the undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division. He boasts a record of 25 wins (12 by knockout) and one loss.
Bivol made his professional debut in November 2014, facing Uruguayan fighter Jorge Rodriguez Olivera. This match, which was stopped in the sixth round, ended in Dmitry's favor by technical knockout.
