WBA, IBF, WBO light heavyweight world champion, Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol told what sporting legacy he would like to create.
Dmitry Bivol, quoted by Forbes Sport
I would like to build a story that a boy from a small town without any special opportunities can reach great heights. When I come to Tokmak in Kyrgyzstan, I see the children and think that I, too, was exactly like them, running on the same streets, living in the same house. I really wish these guys could know my story, realize that I worked hard and they can make it, too. I want boxers to learn my technique and use it. I want to open boxing gyms - I already have one in Kyrgyzstan, now I want to open one in St. Petersburg. I also want my children to have better starting opportunities than me. If this is considered a legacy, then I want it that way.
Recall that in the fall, Bivol intends to finish the trilogy with Artur Beterbiev. Boxers last met in the ring in the main event of the evening of boxing, held in February 2025 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Dmitry won that fight by majority decision and became the undisputed world champion in the light heavyweight division.
The first fight between Bivol and Beterbiev took place in October 2024. Then Artur won by majority decision. He has 21 wins (20 by knockout) and one defeat. Dmitry has 24 wins (12 by knockout) and one defeat.
