Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez underwent elbow surgery following his recent bout against American Terence Crawford for the undisputed super middleweight title.
ESPN reports that the rehabilitation will take at least two months, projecting Alvarez’s return roughly 12 to 15 weeks post-operation, thus ruling out any fights before the second quarter of 2026.
The fight took place on September 14 in Las Vegas, where Crawford won by unanimous decision to become the undisputed super middleweight champion.
Crawford boasts a perfect professional record of 42 wins (31 by knockout) with no losses. Alvarez’s record stands at 63 wins (39 by knockout), 3 losses, and 2 draws.
