Canelo Turned Into a Commercial Boxer and Sold His Titles for Big Money: Bivol’s Coach

Gennady Mashianov also criticized Saul Alvarez for a passive performance against Terence Crawford in the same interview with Telecomasia.net.

He’s become a purely commercial boxer in recent fights. He sold the belts for big money. He probably won’t keep boxing much longer. If he has another fight, fans won’t watch it. In his latest fight there was a build‑up and intrigue. People thought Canelo’s pride would kick in and he’d go for it – go all in, don’t drop your hands for half a round, hit the man. They kept saying that Crawford is smaller in terms of weight, he is from another division, so why didn’t he break him? He completed one task – he earned the money.

Crawford’s win over Alvarez took place on September 14 in Las Vegas. With that victory, Crawford became the undisputed champion at super middleweight. His record is 42 wins (31 by KO) and zero losses. Alvarez has 63 wins (39 by KO), three losses and two draws.
