Chavez Jr to Be Extradited from the US Over Arms Trade and Cartel Ties

Former world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has been arrested by authorities in Studio City, California, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

According to El Pais, Chavez's visa had expired. Additionally, he faces accusations of providing false testimony while applying for residency in the US. Mexican authorities have also issued an arrest warrant for the boxer for his connections to a cartel and arms trafficking.

On June 29, Chavez fought Jake Paul in Anaheim, California, losing by unanimous decision.

Paul has a professional boxing record of 12 wins (seven by knockout) and one loss. Chavez Jr's record includes 54 wins (34 by knockout), seven losses, and one draw.
