Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who was previously arrested for immigration violations and connections with a cartel, worked as a subordinate to one of the leaders of the criminal organization known as "El Nini."
According to the indictment, from December 2021 to June 2022, the Mexican Attorney General's office intercepted phone calls discussing orders from El Nini to tie up punished subordinates and hang them up so that Chavez Jr. could beat them "like a punching bag."
To recap, on June 29, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, USA, Chavez Jr. lost to popular American blogger Jake Paul by unanimous decision. His previous fight was against former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in July 2024, which went the full distance and ended in a unanimous decision win for Julio. His professional record stands at 54 victories (34 by knockout), seven losses, and one draw.
