Undisputed super-middleweight champion Terence Crawford said he hasn’t watched the fights of UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, and therefore sees no point in stepping into the ring with him.
Topuria had earlier claimed he would knock Crawford out with the very first punch.
Terence Crawford in an interview with Ariel Helwani
What money would I get out of fighting him? Tell me how much I'm going to get out of fighting him? He's nowhere near on the level of Conor McGregor. Let's be real. Stop it. Don't even compare him to Conor. ... Like I said, I don't know this guy. I've never seen this guy fight, and I watch a lot of MMA.
Recall that on September 14 in Las Vegas Crawford beat Saul Alvarez by unanimous decision, taking his professional record to 42 wins (31 KOs) and no losses.
Ilia Topuria last fought in June 2025 at UFC 317, knocking out Charles Oliveira in the first round. His MMA record is 17-0.
