Legendary Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko answered a question about who will organize his boxing match against Croatia's Mirko Filipovic, nicknamed Cro Cop, which is scheduled for the spring of 2026.
"A Serbian promotion. I think they will announce it later. Our friends offered to host this significant fight at their place because they want it. There will be further announcements, press conferences and all. I haven’t put my signature on the contract yet, but we have preliminary agreements, the work is ongoing, everything is fine," Emelianenko said in an interview with Okko MMA.
The format of the fight? The contract is currently being finalized, and then we will know for sure. Most likely, it will be eight rounds, three minutes each.
Recall that Emelianenko and Filipovic previously met in August 2005 as part of the Pride FC league. Fedor won that fight by unanimous decision. His record stands at 40 wins and seven losses. One fight was declared a no contest. Cro Cop's record includes 38 wins, 11 losses, and two draws. One fight was declared a no contest.
