Filip Hrgovic Set to Replace Tyson Fury in Usyk Fight on May 18

Sergey Lapin, a member of coaching staff of the WBA, IBF, IBO, and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksander Usyk, revealed that Filip Hrgovic is the backup fighter for Usyk's scheduled bout against Tyson Fury on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.

Lapin told Fruity Slots:

Usyk's coach Sergey Lapin
If he continues to run, then we have a clause in the agreement to replace Fury with Filip Hrgovic. Hrgovic is the back-up opponent, so the show will go on regardless of whether he shows up.

Fury's last fight was against Francis Ngannou in October 2023, where he won a split decision. Fury's record includes 34 wins (24 by knockout), one draw, and no losses.

Usyk's latest fight was against Daniel Dubois in August 2023, which he won by knockout in the ninth round. Usyk's record stands at 21 wins (14 by knockout) without a single loss.
