WBA lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis has been charged with assaulting a woman at Tootsie's Cabaret strip club in Miami Gardens.
The woman, a VIP room waitress, filed a civil lawsuit against Davis on October 30, accusing the boxer of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She claims the assault occurred on October 27. According to the lawsuit, Davis found her in the club's second-floor VIP room. He then forcibly grabbed her and dragged her down a staircase, through the kitchen, and out the back door to the parking lot. During this time, Davis continuously grabbed, choked, pushed, pulled, and hit her in the back of the head.
The woman and Davis met in 2022 and were in a close relationship for five months before she alleged the assault. During those months, the boxer allegedly physically abused her four times and threatened to kill her twice.
It is worth noting that Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul are scheduled to hold an exhibition fight on November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Paul last stepped into the ring in June 2025, defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision. His record stands at 12 wins (seven by knockout) and one loss.
Davis's last fight was against Lamont Roach in March 2025. That bout ended in a majority draw. Davis's record is 30 wins (28 by knockout), one draw, and zero losses.
