Al Siesta, CEO of IBA.PRO and promoter, shared in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net his thoughts on what he would do if he were American Terence Crawford or Mexican Saul Alvarez.
"I would look for the biggest commercial fight if I were Terence. Crawford is an incredible star. But right now, every step needs to be carefully considered because one wrong move can ruin things. Esoterically, Crawford understands all this. He has a big, smart team around him that can guide him in the right direction. At this point, Crawford must make only measured and thoughtful decisions. He carries a huge responsibility right now,” Siesta said.
And I would also advise Canelo to either to close the loss chapter or try to win the title again. Canelo is a strong brand. Maybe Saul should drop down to middleweight. For example, to have a fight with Chris Eubank Jr. IBA.PRO is looking at that fight. Believe it or not, we are interested in Canelo.
Recall that on September 14 in Las Vegas, Terence Crawford beat Saul Alvarez by unanimous decision to become the undisputed super middleweight world champion. Crawford’s record stands at 42 wins (31 by knockout) and no losses, while Canelo has 63 wins (39 by knockout), 3 losses, and 2 draws.
