Lopez: I Wasn't Gonna Retire, It Was A Publicity Stunt

WBO junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez commented on the information that he intends to finish his professional boxing career.

In an interview with Boxing Social Lopez said:

I had to milk the game. I wasn't gonna retire, it was a publicity stunt. You gotta know how to work the media too.

Earlier it became known that Lopez will hold his next fight on February 8 in Las Vegas (USA) against Jamaine Ortiz.

Teofimo's last fight was against Josh Taylor in June 2023. In that fight, Lopez won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 19 wins (13 by knockout) and one loss.
