IBF and WBO middleweight world champion Janibek Alimkhanuly responded to the announcement of his fight against WBA titleholder Erislandy Lara, set for December 7 in San Antonio, USA.
Janibek Alimkhanuly for The Ring
My goal is to unify four belts and make my name a part of history. I’ve been working tirelessly on this path. I’ve been calling out champions for a long time, and Lara agreed. The big fight is on December 6. God willing, I’ll win my third title. History is almost made.
Alimkhanuly’s last fight was against Anauel Ngamissengue in April this year in Astana, where Janibek won by technical knockout in the fifth round. His record is 16 wins (11 by knockout) and no losses.
Lara last entered the ring against Danny Garcia in September 2024. That fight ended in Erislandy’s favor by technical knockout after his opponent withdrew from the bout. His record is 31 wins (19 by knockout), three losses, and three draws.
