Former WBO super welterweight champion Tim Tszyu of Australia is on a revenge mission this weekend when he challenges Sebastian Fundora for the WBC Super Welterweight title in the co-main event of the Mario Barrios vs. Manny Pacquiao title fight in Las Vegas. Tszyu and Fundora fought last year in a contest that was named the bloodiest fight of the year and was nominated for Fight of the Year. In that fight, late replacement Sebastian Fundora shocked Tszyu by claiming the vacant WBC title and Tszyu's WBO super welterweight title. Fundora won the titles by split decision after replacing Keith Thurman with less than 15 days to the March 30 fight. Tim Tszyu is still the bookies' favorite in this rematch, tipped to become a two-time champion.

Sebastian Fundora
American boxer Sebastian Fundora shocked the boxing world when he defeated Tim Tszyu in March last year to unify the WBO and WBC titles. The 27-year-old southpaw was originally going to fight Serhii Bohachuk for the vacant WBC title, but was switched to contest with Tszyu for the Aussie's WBO title and the vacant WBC strap after Keith Thurman pulled out from fighting Tszyu. Fundora, who is nicknamed "The Towering Inferno" due to his 6'6" frame, has one loss from 24 fights, a defeat against Brian Mendoza in 2023. Last March, the American successfully defended his WBO and WBC titles with a fourth-round TKO of Chordale Booker. However, he was stripped of the WBO title for choosing to honor the rematch clause with Tszyu instead of fighting the WBO's mandatory challenger.

Tim Tszyu
Tim Tszyu was cut on the head in the second round of his first fight with Fundora and, though bloodied, battled on for ten rounds, ultimately losing the decision. Tszyu has sworn that he was hampered by the cut, which he attributes to an elbow from Fundora and could barely see during the slugfest. "The Soul Taker" tried to quickly bounce back from that first defeat by challenging Bakhram Murtazaliev for the IBF light middleweight title, but the Aussie was stopped in the third round of their 12-rounder with a TKO. Tszyu, who won the WBO title in 2023 with a TKO of Tony Harrison and had won 24 consecutive fights before losing to Fundora, prepped for the rematch with Fundora by fighting Joseph Spencer in his home country. The former champ won an easy TKO and ended his two-fight skid.
