Jake Paul’s promotion, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), has begun looking for a new opponent for the social media star after legal troubles emerged involving Gervonta “Tank” Davis. Davis’s name appeared in a lawsuit filed in Miami, and he has since been formally charged with assaulting a woman at strip club Tootsie’s Cabaret.
As a result, MVP is also considering rescheduling the boxing event originally set for November 15 to sometime in December. According to journalist Mike Coppinger, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is among the candidates being considered as a replacement. Other potential contenders include Ryan Garcia, Terence Crawford, and Nate Diaz.
Paul’s most recent bout was against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Anaheim this past June, which he won by unanimous decision. Paul’s professional boxing record currently stands at 12 wins (7 by knockout) and 1 loss.
Davis last stepped into the ring in March in Brooklyn against Lamont Roach Jr., a fight that ended in a majority draw. Davis holds a professional boxing record of 30 wins (28 by knockout), 1 draw, and no losses.
