Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has commented on the decision of Terence Crawford, the former three-weight undisputed world champion, to retire from professional boxing.
Anthony Joshua for Ready To Fight
I feel like Terence Crawford has got so, so much more to give. But it’s not just physical, it’s what’s going on in his mind. He’s been in the game for a long time, so maybe he’s like, forget it, I’m done mentally, even though physically he’s good. I would love to see him continue fighting. I think he’s got a lot left, but we have to live and let others live by their own rules.
Crawford’s final ring appearance took place in September of this year against Canelo Alvarez. Terence won the bout via unanimous decision, becoming the undisputed super middleweight champion of the world. He retires with a perfect record of 42 wins (31 by knockout) and no losses. Crawford made his professional debut in March 2008, defeating Brian Cummings via first-round knockout.
