Former undisputed super middleweight world champion Terence Crawford condemned the World Boxing Council (WBC) after the organization stripped him of his title for refusing to pay sanctioning fees.
"Mauricio got a lot to say about me not paying him $300,000 plus another $100K-something for a sanctioning fee. Then he’s gonna tell me I need to apologize. Who the f*ck you think I am? I ain’t paying you.
"What makes you so m*** better than any other sanctioning body? Everybody accepted what I was giving them. The WBC think that you better than everybody, and you’ve got the f*** green belt, which don’t mean f*** s**," Crawford said on his social media.
I’m still the champion. Can’t take that away from me. History already been made, baby. I am legend.
The American stated that the WBC demanded around $400,000 from him, causing the conflict.
The WBC previously stripped Crawford of his championship due to unpaid commissions, which sparked a strong reaction from the boxer, who still holds all his other belts.
To recall, in September 2025, Terence Crawford defeated Saul Alvarez by unanimous decision and became the undisputed super middleweight world champion. He holds a record of 42 wins (31 by knockout) and zero losses.
