Usyk named WBO Boxer of the Year 2022

In San Juan during the annual convention of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) the Ukrainian WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was named boxer of the year.

In August, 35-year-old Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua of Great Britain by split decision.  Last September, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision of the judges. Oleksandr has 20 wins (13 by knockout) and no defeats under his belt.

Earlier, ESPN journalist Mike Coppinger reported that in March 2023, Usyk may fight WBC champion Tyson Fury.
