Famous Russian coach Gennady Mashianov, in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, evaluated the victory of two-time Olympic champion from Uzbekistan, Bakhodir Jalolov, over Russian Vitaly Kudukhov.
“Bakhodir has not fully transitioned to the professional ring yet. He hasn’t found himself so far. He is not performing the way he should. He was kept in amateur boxing for a long time. He should have turned pro right after his first Olympics, but the interests of his country came first. He stayed for a second Olympics. To date, he has had two professional fights after the Olympics. The fights in Canada and the USA that had been scheduled for him fell through. He hasn’t adapted yet. He has all the potential to become a great professional boxer,” Mashianov said.
Many people have noticed some mental instability in him. When he is heavily pressured, he starts to falter. But this is not due to his physical condition, because he is fit. It is purely mental He gets nervous and tense. As a result, his physical performance suffers. It seems like he gets tired. We will see how things progress.
Recall that 31-year-old Bakhodir Jalolov is the Olympic champion of 2020 and 2024. In the professional ring, he has 16 wins (14 by knockout). His last two fights ended by judges’ decision. On October 6, Jalolov defeated Kudukhov by unanimous decision.
