CODE Sports: Piastri Forbidden From Giving Interviews to Australian Media

CODE Sports journalist Julian Linder reported that the management of the Formula 1 team McLaren banned Australian driver Oscar Piastri from giving interviews to national media outlets before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

According to Linder, Piastri, 24, is starting to lose patience with the British team. The report states that after his disappointment at the Qatar Grand Prix, where he finished second and conceded the victory to Max Verstappen of Oracle Red Bull Racing, the racer had an unpleasant conversation with the McLaren engineers.

For this reason, the team bosses forbade the Australian from communicating with media outlets from his home country before the final event of the 2025 season. In the columnist's opinion, this suggests maximum bias against Piastri ahead of the year's main race.

To recall, after 23 completed events of Formula 1, Piastri is in third place in the drivers' standings with 392 points, trailing only his teammate, the Brit Lando Norris (408), and Verstappen (396).
