Frederic Vasseur, head of the Italian Ferrari team, explained why Lewis Hamilton did not pose a danger to other drivers during the final laps of the Singapore Grand Prix despite nearly losing all braking ability on his car.

In terms of safety, yes, because we adapted the pace. It's not that Lewis was pushing like hell in the last lap, but he was 30 seconds slower. In terms of safety, it was on the safe side.
Earlier, some experts argued that the Italian team or race officials should have withdrawn Hamilton from the race.
The 40-year-old British driver finished seventh but received a five-second penalty from the stewards after several off-track moments caused, according to him, by brake issues.
As a result, Lewis Hamilton dropped to eighth place, losing his position to Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and earning four points instead of six.
The race was won by George Russell, representing the German Mercedes team.
