Ferrari Explains Leclerc’s Problems in Hungary

Charles Leclerc started the race in Budapest from pole position but lost pace toward the final laps and finished only fourth.

Immediately after the finish the driver suggested the issue might be related to the car. However, according to The Race, Ferrari denied that there was a technical failure.

The team believes the drop in pace was due to a combination of factors: after the final pit stop tyre pressures were higher than expected, and changes made to the front wing unexpectedly altered the car’s balance.

After 14 rounds of the 2025 season Charles Leclerc sits fifth in the drivers’ standings with 151 points. In the constructors’ championship Ferrari is second with 260 points, behind only McLaren (559 points).
