Former Formula 1 Steward Tim Mayer to Run for FIA Presidency

Tim Mayer, a former steward in Formula 1, will announce his candidacy for the presidency of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) at a press conference in Silverstone.

The FIA presidential elections are set to take place in December 2025. Mayer, the son of former McLaren chief Teddy Mayer, was dismissed from his steward position by the current FIA president, Mohammed ben Sulayem, in November 2024.

Previously, the FIA unveiled a revised calendar for the 2026 Formula 1 season.
