British Mercedes driver George Russell considered a switch to the Cadillac team, which is preparing to make its Formula 1 debut in 2026, Sky Sports News reports.
The source says Russell examined various options for the next steps in his career beyond continuing with Mercedes and held talks with representatives of Cadillac.
How far those talks progressed is unclear, but they are currently on hold because Russell is determined to remain with Mercedes.
Earlier reports indicated that German driver Mick Schumacher has been in negotiations with Cadillac.
