Former Haas team boss Guenther Steiner believes seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton has not shown the expected level in his first season with Ferrari.
In an interview with GPblog, Steiner said the Briton is unhappy with his own performances, and that fan and expert expectations may have been too high.
Guenther Steiner
He's not useless, but at the moment he's not delivering what was expected of it. The fact is: He is not getting going at Ferrari. The direct comparison with the teammate is always the most meaningful. And there you can see: Charles Leclerc is better. I've always said you have to give Hamilton time until the summer. But as of now, he simply hasn't lived up to expectations.
After 14 races Hamilton is sixth in the drivers’ standings with 109 points. He finished 12th at the Hungarian Grand Prix — one of the weakest starts of his career. So far he has only twice finished in the top five and has yet to reach the podium this season.
Hamilton moved to Ferrari at the start of 2025. Ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix he said he did not want to become another driver who failed to win a title with the Scuderia.
