Charles Leclerc from Ferrari expressed his disappointment regarding his mistake during the final fast lap of the Canadian Grand Prix qualifying, which resulted in him finishing only in eighth place.
According to him, the car had enough potential to secure pole position, but he made an error by heading out for his final attempt too early, which led to a loss of grip due to another driver being on the racing line.
Charles Leclerc for RaceFans
It’s a shame because until then I think it was… I mean, we had only done seven corners, but I think it was good enough for pole. So I’m very frustrated. I think today the car was really good and we haven’t maximised anything.
The Canadian Grand Prix takes place at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal.
Earlier, it was reported that Leclerc is considering leaving the Italian team early in 2026.
