Mario Andretti Plans to Invite Charles Leclerc to Become a Cadillac Driver

Mario Andretti, the head of the Cadillac team, which will debut in the Formula 1 championship in the 2026 season, stated that under favorable circumstances, he intends to invite Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc to join his team. This was reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mario Andretti
Verstappen is very strong. I like Piastri for his grit, but it seems to me that at McLaren, for some reason – I don’t know why – they favour Lando Norris. I’m a big fan of Leclerc; if he really wanted to change teams one day, I’d take him to Cadillac straight away.

Recall that 27-year-old Monegasque Leclerc has been racing for the Italian team since 2019. His current contract with Ferrari is valid until the end of 2026.

In the current drivers’ standings, Charles Leclerc holds the fifth place with 173 points, trailing the championship leader, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, by 163 points.
