Motorsport Italia reveals that Chalerm Yoovidhya, son of Red Bull GmbH co-founder Chaleo Yoovidhya, aims to bring back Alexander Albon to the Red Bull Formula One team. Albon raced for Red Bull from 2019 to 2021.
Sources say Yoovidhya Jr is ready to cover the penalty fee for early contract termination to Atlassian Williams Racing, where the 29-year-old Albon currently competes. Albon, born in London and holding both Thai and British citizenship, is under contract with Williams until the end of the 2027 season.
This season, Albon has scored 70 points over 17 races, ranking seventh in the driver standings.
