Red Bull sports advisor Helmut Marko has summarized the results of the British Grand Prix, stating that driver Max Verstappen has no chance of contending for the Formula 1 title this season.
After the race, you mentioned on air that even getting close to McLaren is a tough task. Unfortunately, that's the case. After qualifying and Max's pole, things didn't look too bad. Unfortunately, we relied on the weather forecast and chose a dry setup. On a wet track, it was clear that we stood no chance. You just have to acknowledge that McLaren is much better.
On July 6, the 12th round of the Formula 1 season took place at Silverstone in Northamptonshire. The British driver Lando Norris from McLaren took the victory.
Norris's teammate and championship leader, Australian Oscar Piastri, finished second, trailing the winner by 6.812 seconds. German Nico Hülkenberg from Sauber claimed third place, finishing 34.742 seconds behind.
Notably, current world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull finished fifth, a full 56.781 seconds behind the winner.
In the current Formula 1 driver championship standings, Max Verstappen is in third place with 165 points, trailing leader Oscar Piastri by 69 points. Lando Norris sits in second place with 226 points.
The next round of Formula 1 will take place from July 25 to 27 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
Previously, Max Verstappen commented on rumors about a potential move to Mercedes.
