The stewards of the Miami Grand Prix have published an official statement explaining why Red Bull driver Max Verstappen avoided a penalty after finishing fourth in the sprint qualifying.
The statement from the stewards indicates that in the second segment, the Dutch driver's car was six seconds slower than the established minimum time on one of the laps due to a display programming error that misled the Red Bull driver. However, the Austrian team quickly identified the issue and provided correct instructions, allowing Verstappen to adjust his speed.
As a result, the stewards concluded that Max Verstappen did not not impede any other cars or create any dangerous situation, thus he was not penalized. However, Red Bull received a warning for the incorrect information displayed.
It's worth noting that Max Verstappen had violated the instructions of the race director by completing one of the laps too slowly.
The Miami Grand Prix race is scheduled for Sunday, May 4.
Earlier reports indicated that Max Verstappen has become a father.
Additionally, former Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost commented on whether the Dutch Red Bull driver can be considered the best in Formula 1 history.
