The government of Thailand unveiled the preliminary design for the Grand Prix circuit in Bangkok, discussions for the inclusion of which in the race calendar are ongoing with the championship organizers.
The inaugural race is expected to take place in 2028. According to Racing News 365, the planned 5.7 km track with 18 corners will run within the capital city. The track layout is clockwise, and its length will make it the eighth longest among the championship's current circuits, ranking between Monza and the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
Alex Albon, the Williams driver who represents Thailand, previously commented on the project's great potential. The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) stated that the initial agreement is planned for a five-year period, from 2028 to 2032, and the construction of the circuit is expected to take one to two years.
