On Wednesday, Red Bull announced firing 51-year-old Horner, who had held the leadership position since 2005. He will be succeeded by Frenchman Laurent Mekies.
Under Horner's leadership, Red Bull won the Constructors' Championship six times, and both Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel secured the Formula 1 championship title a total of eight times (four times each).
In the current season, Verstappen sits in third place in the standings, while Oscar Piastri from McLaren leads the chart.
