The overtake by four-time world champion, Red Bull team driver Max Verstappen, on Australian McLaren racer Oscar Piastri at the start of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was recognized as the Formula 1 Action of the Year at the International Automobile Federation (FIA) awards ceremony, which took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

This overtake was noted as the most impressive event of 2025 in F1.

It should be noted that Max Verstappen could not attend the ceremony due to illness.

In the past season, the Dutchman took second place in the drivers' personal classification, scoring 421 points. The winner of the championship and first-place holder in the ranking was British McLaren team driver Lando Norris, who scored 423 points.

Previously, the Formula 1 press service reached out to Max Verstappen after Lando Norris won the championship.
