
The Greek Super League club Olympiacos announced the signing of former France international midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.
The contract with the 40-year-old attacking midfielder runs until the end of June 2026. According to the club’s press office, Valbuena will become captain of Olympiacos’s second team, which plays in Super League 2 (the second division).
Valbuena already played for the Piraeus club from 2019 to 2023, during which he helped Olympiacos win three Greek championships (2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022) and the national cup (2019/2020). Earlier in his career he also played for Marseille, Dynamo Moscow, Lyon, Fenerbahçe, Apollon Limassol and Kallithea.
