The 2016 European champion, star forward for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, and captain of the Portuguese national team Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Brazilian outlet UOL about his passion for the game.
I always say: longevity in sports comes only from passion, and I still feel that passion deeply. Whether I’m scoring or not, football is my life, and it always has been. Twenty-three or twenty-four years in the game – that’s my entire life. That’s exactly why I want to keep playing as long as my legs allow me to.
The 40-year-old striker joined Al-Nassr in January 2023, arriving from Manchester United. In the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League season so far, he has played seven matches, scoring eight goals and providing one assist.
Ronaldo’s current contract with the Riyadh-based club runs through the end of June 2027. His market value is estimated at €12 million by Transfermarks.
On October 30, British journalist and television presenter Piers Morgan shared on his social media an announcement for what he described as “the most intimate and candid interview of Ronaldo’s life.”
