
AC Milan and Inter Milan have officially announced the acquisition of the San Siro stadium and the surrounding land. Earlier reports indicated that the clubs intend to demolish the existing arena and construct a new one on the same site.
According to a joint statement published on AC Milan’s website, the clubs have commissioned architectural firms Foster + Partners and MANICA to design a world-class new stadium and develop a master plan for the surrounding area.
AC Milan and Inter Milan have shared San Siro as their home ground for 77 years, since 1947. From 1926 to 1947, the stadium was exclusively AC Milan’s home venue.
After 10 matches of the 2025-26 Serie A season, AC Milan sit third in the standings with 21 points, while Inter Milan occupy second place with the same number of points. Napoli lead the table with 22 points.
