
Swedish national team forward Alexander Isak has signed with Liverpool, as announced on the official website of the reigning English champions.
Newcastle's press service confirmed that Isak's transfer has set a record in the history of the English Premier League (EPL), with the deal amounting to £125 million (€145 million), according to media reports.
The transfer was finalized on the last day of the summer transfer window after Isak successfully completed a medical examination.
Isak had been with Newcastle since the summer of 2022, playing a total of 109 matches, scoring 62 goals, and providing 11 assists. The 25-year-old forward is estimated at €120 million by Transfermarkt.
Liverpool currently lead the EPL table with nine points. The Swedish player may make his debut for his new club after the international break on September 14 against Burnley, with kickoff scheduled for 16:00 GMT+3.
