
On Saturday, Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-0 in the fifth round of La Liga. With that result, the team recorded its fifth straight league win under the manager.
According to statistics service Opta, the Spaniard became the third Real coach in the club’s history to win his first five matches in La Liga. Before him, José Quirante did it in 1928-29 and Vanderlei Luxemburgo in 2004-05.
After the win Real leads La Liga with 15 points from five matches.
