Davide Ancelotti, son of Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti, has left his post as head coach of Botafogo. The Rio de Janeiro-based club announced this on its official website.

The 36-year-old Italian took charge of Botafogo in July 2025. Under his leadership, “O Glorioso” finished in sixth place in the Brazilian championship standings with 63 points. The Rio de Janeiro side finished 16 points behind Flamengo, who won the tournament.

In the Copa Libertadores, Botafogo were eliminated in the Round of 16, losing on aggregate to Ecuador's LDU Quito. In the Copa do Brasil, they ended their run at the quarterfinal stage, losing on aggregate to Vasco da Gama.

Previously, Davide Ancelotti was part of his father's coaching staff at Real Madrid.
