Ancelotti sets all-time Champions League record for most games

Real Madrid hosted Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

The match ended in a confident 2-0 win for the hosts. The goals were scored by forward and captain Karim Benzema and winger Marco Asensio. In both episodes, forward Vinicius Júnior gave an assist.

It should be noted that Carlo Ancelotti, the Madrid head coach, played his 215th match in the tournament, which is a new Champions League record.

Thus, Ancelotti surpassed the legendary Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson (214).

The return leg is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, at Stamford Bridge in London. The starting whistle will sound at 22:00 GMT+3.
