Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti explained the conditions under which Neymar could return to the national side, stressing that no one doubts the forward’s talent.
We are not going to observe how Neymar plays, obviously. Everyone knows his talent. In modern football, to take advantage of his talent, the player has to be in good physical condition. If he is in his best physical condition, he will have no problems being in the national team. Everyone wants Neymar in the national team in good physical condition.
Ancelotti said that in optimal condition Neymar would have no problem making the squad and could play closer to the center, either as a playmaker or a forward. He noted that playing on the outside would be difficult due to the high physical demands of that role.
The coach added that Neymar has time to recover and reach peak form by the World Cup. With proper preparation, he can again become one of the team’s leaders and help Brazil compete for trophies.
Neymar currently plays for Santos. In the 2025 season, he has appeared in 20 matches across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
