Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has worked out a plan in which Brazilian forwards Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo will compete for the left attacking flank, AS reports.
Neither player has a guaranteed starting spot. According to the outlet’s source, Rodrygo’s position improved after the Club World Cup this summer, where he played 93 minutes. Since then, Alonso has shown more trust in Rodrygo and deployed him in the role that suits him best.
This season, Vinicius has appeared five times for Real, coming off the bench in two matches. Rodrygo has played three games, starting twice.
