AS: Sinner, Leclerc and Man City Players Involved in China Brain-Data Theft

Drivers and athletes, including Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek, and several Manchester City footballers, have been targeted by cyberespionage linked to military structures.

According to AS, those military-linked groups connected to the Chinese government sought information on the athletes’ brain activity. An investigation by Hunterbrook Media and journalist Pablo Torre found that the mentioned athletes may have been transmitting data about their brain waves, likely without realizing it, while wearing a headband made by the Chinese company Focuscalm.

Pablo Torre previously drew attention with a high-profile exposé in the NBA about Kawhi Leonard’s contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
