Atlanta United Set MLS Transfer Record with Signing of Latte Lath

American club Atlanta United have announced the signing of 26-year-old forward Emmanuel Latte Lath from Ivory Coast, who previously played for Middlesbrough.

The agreement runs until the end of 2028, with the option to extend for another season.

According to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee was €21.2 million, setting a new record for MLS. The previous most expensive transfer in the league was Kevin Denkey’s move to Cincinnati for €15.5 million in November 2024.

In the current season, Latte Lath played 31 matches for Middlesbrough, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists.
