Atletico Madrid have announced the signing of Alex Baena, a player from Villarreal and the Spanish national team.
In the last La Liga season, Baena scored seven goals and provided ten assists in 32 matches. He was part of the Spanish squad that won the European Championship in the summer of 2024.
Reports indicate that Alex has signed a contract with Atletico Madrid that runs until the summer of 2030. According to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee paid by Atletico for the player is €45 million.
The 23-year-old is also a winner of the Europa League and the 2024 Olympic Games. In the 2023/2024 season, Baena was the top assist provider in La Liga with 14 assists.
